Pat Nevin, a former Chelsea player, has identified five individuals who are keen to get into the starting XI on a regular basis in the second half of the season.

Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Timo Werner are all expected to play more for Chelsea in the second half of the season, according to Nevin.

"Hakim Ziyech will be desperate to show that his man-of-the-match performance was no flash in the pan," Nevin wrote in his regular column on the Chelsea website. "But Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, and Callum Hudson-Odoi will all be positively bursting to get into the side and amongst the goals as the battle for those positions heats up."At the back, Thomas Tuchel uses a five-man formation, which has increased contention for positions up front.

Chelsea has a lot of options for the limited number of front-three positions. While Hakim Ziyech has recently become a regular starter, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have found themselves on the bench more frequently.

This season, Christian Pulisic has largely played out of position, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount alternating at times. Other attackers, according to Pat Nevin, will be focusing on Ziyech's consistency, which has allowed him to cement his place in the starting XI.

The Blues will compete in the Club World Cup the following week.

Chelsea icon Frank Lampard receives a message from Pat Nevin.

Frank Lampard, a club legend, was recently named as Everton's manager. The former player enjoyed a good first season at Stamford Bridge but struggled in his second.

He is now preparing to take on a new task in Merseyside, and Nevin wishes him well. He expressed himself as follows:

‘’Frank Lampard is another player who has taken a sabbatical and is expected to return in top shape. Anyone who cares about Chelsea Football Club would want to wish one of our greatest, if not the greatest, players in the club's history the best of luck in his new role at Everton."

Added Nevin: "With the Toffees being my other team, I certainly have a stake in the game, and nothing would make me happier than them winning every game they have remaining this season, except one! Good luck, Frank; you may expect the normal welcome when you get home."Lampard will face his previous club when the Blues take on Everton in a Premier League match on April 30th.
